Eric Hovde is to geology

As Ron Johnson is to the Constitution.

This guy is a real piece of work.

And if Hovde calls this the solution to high gas prices whereas oil shale makes poor feedstock for gasoline, why isn't his claim completely false?

ETA: More Hovde

I'm waiting for one of these conservative economic geniuses to explain how allowing TransCanada to build the Keystone XL pipeline will cause the refineries to decide to not sell their resulting products on the world market at world prices, but will instead decide to sell them to USA consumers at lower prices. You know, out of the goodness of their hearts, their flag pin, and their devotion to our energy security.

Another favorite game of mine is to watch the blog comments and letters-to-the-editor for the inevitable citizens who will confuse whether any particular pipeline is carrying natural gas, gasoline, or some other oil-based product.

Looks like we don't need him to release any information about which industries are backing him. It is clear as day.
